Another side of Langkawi and the seven dwarfs (sorry Seven Wells)

This is not an excursion to a hidden gem. It is a well known spot where you can walk to a small waterfall, then some levels of running water, end at the the blue hole to cool down. Or if you fancy carry on for another 2.5 hours to a demanding hike to the mountain's top.

The first part is a series of steps with constant reminders of how many are left. This makes it harder than it really is.

The second stop is an area of water inhabited by rather scoundrel monkeys. When we arrived three girls were watching in horror as a group of monkeys was meticulously emptying their bags to find some food. The chief organiser was showing his teeth if they tried to approach. I felt sorry for them so I approached and, after the chief scoundrel tried to become big to try his luck he finally went back.

They did the same with another girl group and this time they were rewarded with sandwich, burger and even nuts. This time they had a real party. I 'll add some more pics when I transfer them from the main camera.

We carried on walking in the thicker forest (still nothing like the hike in Cameron) and we ended in a cool water hole where we met other travellers trying to cool down.

And then it was time for sculls. The rather inspiringly named scull beach was small, with clear water, and nice people to talk to.
