Google maps and Cameron Highlands

Updated: Mar 7

Around 9:30 we set off for our trip. Or we tried too. The car had no proper Android auto so the way we were shown ggogle maps refused to work. Back in the rental office where they showed an alternative way. We St off again and they both started working to get her with 2 voices giving directions together. Nightmare that caused a bit of upsetting, and a couple circles trying to get out of Kuala Lumpur, including paying a bit more tolls that we ought to. Better with an old paper map. Finally after a stop at a highway petrol station we managed to simplify things. The drive itself was pretty easy, the car the has an interesting 3 cylinder 1.0 lt turbo proved a really good traveller. The road to the mountains when we left the highway was beautiful and had plenty of space. We stopped at a small waterfall

before arriving to Tanah Rata. We also made a pit stop to theone of the tea plantations that proved less interesting than the one in BOH plantations but had great views.

The Heritage Hotel we were staying is slightly dated but has big rooms and a fantastic view.

Our food in the evening at Ferm Nyonya was average, apparently a common theme at Cameron Highlands. We still had a decent sauce fish dish and a very average redang.
