Auckland: going around Day2

Another sunny day. The view from the room remains gorgeous. A short trip by boat to Devonport by commuter boat to get a better view of the port and a feel for the surrounding Isles. A trip to Waiheke Island if you have more time will be very interesting but time is a bit short now.

Dovenport the site of the first NZ bank the first short steam commuter boat and now a short ride from downtown is a pleasant little place you can spend a couple hours walking about or sipping coffee.

After back to main CBD area we walked to the fish market where fish and chips and a cold beer were in order. 20 mins bus ride to K Street. This used to be the red district, it is a LGBT friendly area but also still has a number of cabaret scenes as well as sprawling new eateries. The area has clearly changed and 8s a mixture of run down old with not yet fully developed new. Not succeeding at the moment and another example where gentrification creates rather than solves problems.

Then s long walk 5hroygh the Domain Park where the main museum also resides.

And as the evening comes

We went out for Chinese food in the Ghost Street subterranean restaurant. We over ordered but food was great, quite spicy not offensive. The cold pork belly wraps and the snapper fillet broth were superb
