Kowloon

Updated: Feb 15, 2024

The plan today was to go to the peak by the bus 15 that was passing closed to our hotel. After two passed packed without stopping we had to change tact. It was Kowloon the alternative plan. We initially went by MTR (the good and efficient metro) to Mokong station and walked towards the Ladies Market. This is an outside market but as it was just about 10 they were still setting up. We walked a bit on Nathan road that looked busy and the we decided to go further afield. Wong Tai Sin Temple and it's magnificent gardens

with hundreds of people with their incense sticks, the red bows and the smell on the air from burning the sticks.

Really devout people including young people praying for good fortune and health

The gardens were also green nice with waterfalls and little lakes with fishes and turtles

Despite being very busy, it was a peaceful experience.

Argiris had found somewhere for us to eat in the afternoon and he really nailed it.

There was quite a queue but an efficient system of registering your place and selecting your food whilst waiting, meant that we only waited 40 mins. The food was excellent and well worth the wait. Dumplings of all kinds, prawn toast, fried noodles and jasmine tea. Enjoyed it so much i only managed to photograph the first dish.

The next stop was Kowloon Walled Park. Tranquil place withe lovely buildings, trees including bonsai, colourful flowers and butterflies.

Water surrounding the buildings.

This is a part of the Kowloon city that decayed and that was restored more recently with care.

We are having such a lovely experience in HK
