Mekong Delta and Floating markets

The title is misleading as Mekong it was but the floating markets were less impressive than the rest.

We were picked up at 04:15 and after picking another 4 people up we went to the start of our boat trip.

Darkness and a precarious ladder worried Ann but not for long.

Our young guide Y' (idea) was explaining things as the boat driver was negotiating the hyacinth flowers in the darkness

As the light was slowly beating the darkness our propel got stuck by hyacinth or plastic bags that were shredded with a knife by the little shamrocks driver.

Nowhere near as bad as the public boat from Karakorum in India.

Phong Dien was the first market and in spite of being 6:30 am there were only 3-4 little boats. We had a great soup breakfast there.

Ann did not want initially any but see what happens next

And on we went

First to a dragon fruit farm

and then a rice noodle factory that doubled selling dry fish.

Next stop was Cai Rang market where a lot of whole sellers reside for couple months before going back home and starting the cycle again. Maybe we arrived a bit late but there were only few boats trading

The whole trip took 5:30 h and then was good time for shower and some rest.

The cost for both of us was 1600000 vnd.
