Milford Sound

Today is the day for a long drive. 4.5 hours to Milford Sound and after the cruise just over 3 hours back.

The drive itself was beautiful but by now, both spoilt from the previous scenery, we found it 'just beautiful'.

We arrived at the cruise terminal (you park about 10 mins away) and the scenery started being breathtaking.

Our boat was larger than we expected when we booked but this finally did not detract from the scenery. Out and on the top floor cameras in hand and off we went to the 1.5 hour fjord cruise.

The scenery was great.

The boat went up to the exit at the Tasman sea and then slowly returned, stopping in coves, waterfalls...

Then the drive back to Kingston a small settlement at the end of the lake Wakatipu.
