The best $40 spent and the only rainy day

Today was to be the only rainy day of our trip.
We planned to be mostly indoors. First to the Christchurch Art Gallery Te Puna o Waiwhetū. A nice exhibition. Printing art in NZ, modern art exhibition and exploring new norms. All well presented and thought provoking.
Then a brief visit to the previous seat of the University of Canterbury and
then to the art exhibition SHIFT of the Canterbury museum which presented or should I say celebrated graffiti art of mainly local but also other NZ talents. We paid $20 each and this was the best spent $ of a citi trip.
I cant say enough about the exhibition that blew up our eyes (as well as our minds), and tantalised our senses for almost 1.5 hours without realising the time.
Then a quick stop to Riverside Market for some Redang noodles and a beer that were both really good along with the busy but airy place vibe. A short visit to the Scorpio bookshop that is one of these bookshops we all used to like and have now truly disappeared.
Rest for a couple hours and then Smokey T's. Since we could not have our fix of the best bbq in Penarth.... it does not mean we can not have great smoked food.
