Equipped with the information that a nice lady from Father's Guesthouse (we could not stay there as the one of the days was fully booked) we decided to do the 'moderate' path trek 10 this morning. Contrary to the info in rough guide feels safe. You can extend it with a walk towards the plantation we stopped yesterday (path 6) but we did not do that. The very start looked harder than we bargained for but OK.
But then the ropes came into view.
And the trek formed mainly by the roots of the tall trees as very steady steps. Somebody did a lot of work to smoothen that. The climb was demanding but nice. We met a couple from Birmingham, a free lance guy from Los Angeles on the 8th month of a 12 month trip in Asia and some others we did not stop to chat.
The climb at places was 'interesting' but we managed OK. And the last 300 meters were easier again until...
Joking, Ann managed that with flying colors.
The view was great.
And then the descent started.
And completed in one piece and happy smiles.
We thought we had time for a drive to the BOH Tea plantation (half an hour away) so off we went by car. The plantation has lovely views, a much better tea and cake space than yesterday's, and a short guided tour of the factory where tea is mushed, fermented, dried and ultimately separated. It was not long and the minimum information was given but it was still good to see.
And besides more beautiful views we met an 'aspiring Bollywood star'.
Before the way back I manage to download petal maps in the car and directions became the familiar toddle. To be updated
